Our beautiful unique period function room, “The Ballroom”, has been hosting weddings and functions since 1928. Situated on our first floor, the Ballroom is perfect for boutique weddings. We offer exclusive use for wedding packages. Only those who have seen the Ballroom in person, know of this perfect Whitby wedding venue, a real hidden gem.
Our Restaurant, famous for our Afternoon Teas, including our signature dish: the Whitby Fish and Chips Afternoon Tea; is rated in the Top 10% of Restaurants Worldwide on TripAdvisor.

A great little find near the harbour in Whitby. My husband ordered the fish & chips afternoon tea & I had a traditional afternoon tea. Both were excellent value for money & delicious. We had to take our scones home as we were both full! They included unlimited tea or coffee as well.
All the staff were really friendly & the tearooms are dog friendly which was an added bonus.
What a smashing hidden gem, found by accident. Nothing was too much. My grandaughter asked if she could have her sausage battered. Of course said the waitress.
The adults ordered afternoon tea which included fish, home made chips, tartare sauce, mushy peas, bread and butter, scones, clotted cream and jam, and a pot of tea. Wow, what an amazing feast and all for £36 gor 2.
A request was made if it was possible to have an afternoon tea for one. Yes, of course.
The fish was the best that I’ve eaten for years, as were the homemade chips. You don’t get served these any more.
I cannot recommend this restaurant any more highly. You will not be dissapointed.
Excellent Fish and Chips. Light batter, very fresh fish. Great service from really pleasant staff. Really good and highly recommended.
