Our beautiful unique period function room, “The Ballroom”, has been hosting weddings and functions since 1928. Situated on our first floor, the Ballroom is perfect for boutique weddings. We offer exclusive use for wedding packages. Only those who have seen the Ballroom in person, know of this perfect Whitby wedding venue, a real hidden gem.
Our Restaurant, famous for our Afternoon Teas, including our signature dish: the Whitby Fish and Chips Afternoon Tea; is rated in the Top 10% of Restaurants Worldwide on TripAdvisor.

Absolutely splendid! We had the famous fish and chips afternoon tea, and my daughter had sausage and chips. The food was gorgeous, fish was perfectly cooked, chips were well cooked and the tastiest I have ever had! Service was excellent, everything we needed was provided- the only thing that would have made it better would be a better quality serviette – and I’m scraping the barrel here for constructive criticism – we just loved it here! Reasonably priced too, will have to come back next time we are in the area!!
Great small full english breakfast. Glad I didn’t have the standard as I was full. Fresh tomato and mushrooms and decent bread for toast. Dog friendly and spacious pleasant decor. Not cramped at all. We went for lunch 2 days later for fish and chips which was delicious. Huge piece of fresh fish in really crunchy batter. Chips were really tasty and really brown instead of usual anaemic looking chips. Very clean and pleasant service from the young staff that work there and value for money. I’ll be back on our next visit to whitby.
