Dog Friendly Whitby

Meet Milo, our beloved family dog!

Dog Friendly Whitby

A day out or holiday choices can be limited when visiting with your beloved four legged friends, but here in Whitby dogs are welcomed.

As dog owners ourselves we were aware of how difficult it can be to find a nice place to eat, with a dog in tow, so we decided that Hetty & Betty would be dog friendly from the very start.

Whitby has a number of dog friendly places. We’ve listed a few below, for you to check out. But our favourite dog friendly place in Whitby to visit is The Fuzzy Dog Bakery on Flowergate. A lovely friendly place, selling everything a pampered pooch could need, and perfect treats for all dogs, this little shop has something for every dog!

A few more recommended dog friendly places to visit:

Whitby Abbey Dogs on leads welcome. One of the main tourist attractions in Whitby, the Abbey has sat domineering the skyline on the East Cliff since the 8th Century. The inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, it’s definitely worth a visit. And as it’s an English Heritage property, it’s free entry to English Heritage members.

Whitby Beach – Whilst the main beach near the pier is dog friendly only in the off-season, the smaller beach, Tate Hill, on the side of the River Esk, on the the East side, is open to dogs all year round. Perfect for dogs that love nuzzling in the sand and having a paddle!

If you’ve forgotten any essentials, Whitby Pet Shop can help you out. Situated on station square, it’s just opposite the train station.

Whitby has a wide range of shops and eateries that welcome dogs, and a good choice of pubs too!

As a holiday destination, Whitby is great for pet owners.

Thank you for reading. We hope to welcome you soon.
