Our charming Ballroom, with a feature fireplace, ornate Captain’s mirror and unique shape, has been hosting wedding receptions since 1928. It is a very special place, with lots of happy wedding memories for the many locals and those from further afield, who have held their receptions here over the years. Read about our history here

Whether you’re hiring the Ballroom for a few hours, or for a full day, we can help advise and guide you through all of the decisions you need to make, to ensure your day is done your way. Every package is unique, bespoke and designed for individual requirements.
We can add as little or as much to your package as you would like us to. We have a range of food options and drinks options available to add your bespoke package.

Absolutely fantastic, we had our wedding reception here in the ballroom, Lois, Sarah, Dave and the team worked absolute miracles to make our day so special, the food was outstanding with our afternoon teas and cakes, the evening buffet was amazing, they all worked ever so hard and made ourselves and guests feel really special, couldn’t thank them enough and helped towards creating very special memories for us to cherish, would definitely recommend Hetty and Betty for any special occasion.
After getting married at Whitby registry office we celebrated at Hetty & Betty with fish and chip afternoon teas. Although we were only a small group Lois and the team made it super special and I can’t thank them enough! The food was delicious and we’ll definitely be back for another fish and chip afternoon tea.

Amazing place full of history, the food in my eyes was 10/10 the drinks was priced reasonable for a wedding and the service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Next time I’m in Whitby I’ll be visiting the cafe which is down stairs as the food was that good. Lovely place lovely staff 🙂 highly recommended
