Award Winning: Hetty and Betty awarded Best Hospitality Business of the Year in the Yorkshire Coast region
We are so proud to announce that on 30th November, we officially became award-winning! We were crowned the Best Hospitality Business of the Year in the Scarborough Yorkshire Coast region, by the Scarborough News Group (sister to the Yorkshire Post). The evening was held at the Scarborough Spa, and hosted by Greatest Hits Radio presenter Steve Priestly, with Greatest Hits Radio also sponsoring the evening.
We are so pleased and proud to have received the award. This award represents all of the hard work, dedication and determination of our team as we strive to ensure every customer has great food, great service and a great experience.
Founder, owner, and Managing Director, Lois Kirtlan attended the event with co-owner (and husband) David Kirtlan, on behalf of the team. The award was presented to Lois & David by Scarborough and Whitby MP Sir Robert Goodwill.
Lois said: “We were in the largest category and as the names of the nominees were called out, we knew we were up against some very tough competition. When our name was read out as the winner, it took a second for it to sink in”.
Other nominees in the category included Scarborough Spa, and the award winning luxury accommodation provider The Salisbury.
David Kirtlan said “I am so proud of everything Lois and the team have achieved, and this award is the perfect ending to a year that has seen us grow significantly as a business.”
The press release written by Louise French for The Scarborough News described Lois as “beaming”. Lois said “That description made me smile even more! It is exactly how I felt, bursting with pride for our amazing team.”
“We are really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in 2024, but for now we’re just so proud to be able to say we are an award-winning venue and restaurant.”
