2020 has been a funny old year. In March we all closed our doors, as the Lockdown began. For the next few months we would clap the NHS, keep in touch with our family and friends via technology, and show empathy and caring to our neighbours as we stayed apart, but together.

Our NHS staff proved themselves heroic once more, and stepped up to the plate. They continued their amazing service, even though for many it meant sacrificing seeing their family (including children) so they could isolate and protect their patients.

To say thank you, Whitby businesses collaborated and provided a free weekend visit for NHS frontline workers. The response was huge, and the task of organising the event was no mean feat. We’d to express our thanks to the organising team:

We have received cards of thanks from our welcomed guests, and it was lovely to just be able to say thank you. As a wise old wizard once said “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one just remembers to turn on the light.”
