The Heritage Open Day weekend held 14th & 15th September was hugely popular with local residents and visitors to Whitby alike!

The Whitby Civic Society were our very special guests, exhibiting the work they do preserving, and educating about, the conservation area of Whitby, as well the heritage of all the town. With their incredibly knowledgeable volunteers and interesting information boards, they were able to give visitors plenty of local history about the town.

Their Heritage Trail also proved very popular with visitors heading off to visit more sites around the town, after filling up on our delicious cream teas!

In previous years, the Society had held the heritage open days, but they themselves had not had a base from which they could interact and meet with the public. This year, we were happy to step in and provide them with our beautiful ballroom as the perfect venue for the starting point of the trail, and the perfect site for members of the public to find out more about the Society and their work.

We look forward to next years event, which will be bigger and better than ever!
